Creating Contacts & Transactions

Written by Kayla Latta

Every client or potential client should have a transaction in Sisu. Creating transactions allows you to track your pipeline, monitor progress from lead to close, and keep all transaction details in one place.

Topics in this article:

How to Create a Transaction

There are multiple ways to create a new transaction in Sisu:

Once you've opened the Add New Transaction page:

  1. Select the Transaction Type:

    • Seller: For clients listing a home or acting as a landlord.

    • Buyer: For clients purchasing a home or renting.

  2. Select the Transaction Form you'd like to use. Available forms depend on your team's setup.

  3. In Add Contact, enter the client's name or email address.

    • If the contact already exists, select them from the list.

    • If the contact doesn't exist:

      1. Click Create Contact.

      2. Enter the required contact information.

      3. Click Submit.

  4. Click Create Transaction.

⚠️ Important Note: Your transaction has not been saved yet. If you leave the page before clicking Save Changes, the transaction will be lost.

  5. Complete the transaction form. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

  6. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Your transaction is now created and ready to be managed in Sisu.

Highlighted Date Fields

Some date fields on the transaction form are highlighted using your team's primary theme color or the default Sisu orange.

These fields play an important role in Sisu because they automatically update both the transaction's status as well as your Dashboard metrics.

When you enter a date in one of the highlighted fields and click Save Changes, the transaction status is automatically updated.

ℹ️ Note: If one of these date fields is not included on at least one transaction form for your team, its corresponding status will not be available in the Status field drop-down. For example, if the Signed Date field isn't included on any transaction form, users won't be able to set a transaction's status to Signed.

More information on transaction statuses can be found in this KB article. 📙

Transaction Snapshot

The Transaction Snapshot appears on the left when viewing any transaction form and provides a quick overview of the transaction's most important information.

The snapshot includes:

  • Transaction ID: A unique Sisu ID assigned to the transaction.

  • Amount:The dollar amount entered in the Transaction Amount field.

  • Status: The transaction's current status.

  • Type: Indicates whether the transaction is a Buyer or Seller transaction.

  • Lead Date: Unless manually updated in the Lead Date field, this is the date the transaction was created in Sisu.

  • Current Pipeline Date: Displays the date associated with the transaction's current status. For example, if the transaction is in the Signed status, the Signed Date is displayed.

  • Contact: Displays the client's name, phone number, and property address.

  • Assigned Team Members: Shows the users assigned to the transaction, such as the Agent, TC (Transaction Coordinator), and ISA.

    • Quick Communication Actions: Use the icons next to the contact and assigned team members to quickly send a chat message, email, or place a phone call.
