This article explains how to give away Dashboard credit for rental and referral transactions, what that means for your metrics, and how those transactions still impact GCI and volume.

Topics in this article:

What is Dashboard credit?

Dashboard credit represents the production credit (or unit of production) an agent receives for their progress within a transaction.

On the Circles Dashboard, agents earn Dashboard credit as they move a transaction through its statuses. Each time a transaction advances, such as from Appointment Set to Closed, the agent receives credit in the corresponding status circle, reflecting that progress.

In addition to the status circles, Dashboard credit also appears in the top summary tiles on the Circles Dashboard. For example, once a transaction is closed, the agent receives credit in both the Closed Units tile and the Closed & Forecasted Units tile. This ensures the agent’s production is accurately represented across the Dashboard.

Dashboard credit is also reflected on the YTD Dashboard and the Snapshot Dashboard.

What Happens When Dashboard Credit Is Given Away

When Dashboard credit is given away, the transaction is removed from Dashboard unit-based metrics and averages. This means the transaction will no longer contribute to counts such as appointments, signed agreements, under contract, or closed units.

However, the financial impact of the transaction remains unchanged. Any income associated with the transaction will still count toward your GCI and volume totals.

Below is an example of how the Dashboard appears when Dashboard credit has not been given away. In this scenario, the Seller transaction has progressed from Appointment Set through Closed, and the agent receives Dashboard credit at each status, including credit in the Closed Units and Closed & Forecasted Units tiles.

The following example shows how the Dashboard metrics change after Dashboard credit has been given away. While the volume tiles continue to reflect the transaction’s dollar amount, the unit-based circles and tiles no longer show credit for that transaction.

Additionally, unit counts on the Transactions Page are impacted. You’ll see the total number of transactions, followed by a count after credit splits (reflecting Dashboard credit assigned through the Commission Form), and a final count after credit splits, rentals, and referrals.

How to Give Away Dashboard Credit

There are two ways to give away Dashboard credit, depending on how the transaction is structured and what you need to accomplish.

Rental & Referral Form Fields

To give away Dashboard credit for a rental or outbound referral, the transaction form must include the Rental field and/or the Outbound Referral field, and that field must be selected as Yes.

Note: If you’re an Admin or TC and need help adding these fields to a transaction form, check out this KB article. 📙

Steps to give away Dashboard credit for Rentals & Referrals:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions Page and select your transaction.

  2. From the Form selector, select the form that contains the Rental or Outbound Referral field.

  3. Select Yes in the appropriate field (Rental or Outbound Referral).

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click Save Changes.

Once saved, Dashboard credit is automatically removed for that transaction.

Commission Form

You can also give away or split Dashboard credit using the Commission Form, which allows Dashboard credit to be attributed across multiple agents.

Steps to give away Dashboard credit in the Commission Form:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions Page and select your transaction.

  2. From the top toolbar, select the Commission Form.

  3. Scroll down to the Agent Splits section and click Add.

  4. In the Dashboard Credit field, enter the percentage to assign to the selected agent.

  5. Click Save.

Once saved, Dashboard credit is automatically assigned based on the entered split.

Important Notes

⚠️ When Dashboard credit is given away, the transaction will not count toward units on the Dashboard, but it will still count toward volume.

⚠️ If you don’t want the transaction to be included in volume calculations, we recommend entering the dollar amount in the Notes field, or a custom created field, instead of the Transaction Amount field.

⚠️ Dashboard credit should be given away using one method only—either the Rental/Referral fields or the Commission Form. If both are used, Dashboard credit is deducted twice, causing the transaction to display –1 credit on the Dashboard.
