Creating & Utilizing Vendors

Learn how to create Vendors in Sisu, select them within transactions, and use Vendor reporting to track performance.

Written by Kayla Latta

Vendors allow you to track the service providers your team works with across transactions - such as lenders, title companies, inspectors, and more. Once created, Vendors can be selected directly within transactions and used to filter and analyze data across your reports.

Once created, Vendors will appear in the Vendors list and can be selected within any transaction.

Editing & Disabling Vendors

To edit or disable an existing Vendor, navigate to Admin > Vendors, locate the Vendor in the list, and use the action menu to the right of the Vendor's name to make your changes.

These additional Client Portal options are available when editing an existing vendor:

  • Allow Platform Access: An email invite to the Client Portal will auto-send to the vendor after they are added to a transaction.

  • Viewable In Client Portal: Allow the vendor to appear in the Client Portal Services section.

Selecting Vendors In Transactions

Once Vendors have been created they can be selected within individual transactions. This allows your team to associate specific service providers with each deal for tracking and reporting purposes.

To select a Vendor in a transaction, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions Page and either create a new transaction or open an existing transaction.

  2. Within the transaction, select a form that includes a Vendor field.

Example of Vendor form fields: Mortgage Company, Title Company, Home Inspection Company

  3. Click the Vendor field and begin typing to search for the Vendor you'd like to select, or scroll through the available options.

If the Vendor you need does not appear, you'll need to add it. The Creating Vendors section outlines how.

  4. Select the appropriate Vendor from the dropdown.

  5. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the form.

ℹ️ Note: If you're not seeing a specific Vendor field on your form(s), an Admin or TC user can add the field. Each vendor type aligns with a Vendor form field. For steps on adding fields to a form, check out this KB article. πŸ“™

Vendor Reporting

Sisu makes it easy to analyze your transactions by Vendor. Utilize the Vendor Report for quick reporting. Information on this report can be found in this KB article. πŸ“™

You can filter your reports and dashboards to view performance data broken down by the vendors your team works with most. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to a page in Sisu (e.g., Transactions Page or Team Dashboard).

  2. Click the page's Filter button.

  3. Locate the Vendor filter option and select the Vendor(s) you'd like to view data for.

  4. The page will update to display only the transactions associated with the selected Vendor.

This makes it simple to understand which lenders, title companies, or other service providers are providing the most value to your team.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tip: Save your Vendor-filtered views for quick access in the future by clicking the Save As New button in the top-right corner of the filters panel.

Including Vendors In Task Notifications

This section is intended for Admin & TC users within Sisu.

Once a Vendor has been selected in a transaction, their contact information becomes available to use in two key ways: as a recipient of Task Notifications and shared emails, and as dynamic data that can be auto-inserted into Notification Templates.

Sending Task Notifications & Shared Emails to Vendors

When sending a Task Notification or a shared email from within a transaction, you can select a Vendor as a recipient directly. This is useful for keeping service providers informed of next steps or key transaction milestones without manually entering their contact details each time.

For information on creating Task Notifications, where you can select a Vendor as a recipient, check out this KB article. πŸ“™

For information on sharing forms directly from Transactions, where you can select a Vendor as a recipient, check out this KB article. πŸ“™

Using Vendor Information in Notification Templates

Vendor details can also be automatically pulled into your Notification Templates using merge fields. This allows you to create reusable templates that dynamically populate Vendor-specific information (such as a lender's name or a title company's contact information) based on what's been selected in the transaction.

For information on inserting merge fields into Notification Templates, check out this KB article. πŸ“™
